Already commissioned a document? An affidavit that has been signed and stamped cannot be changed. Amending your details means generating a new affidavit and having it commissioned again before a Commissioner of Oaths.

Frequently asked questions
Who can use this tool?
Owners, directors and members of South African businesses that qualify for a B-BBEE sworn affidavit — typically Exempted Micro Enterprises (EMEs) and Qualifying Small Enterprises (QSEs) within the limit set by their sector code. You will need your South African identity number, your business details and your ownership percentages.
Why do my sector and business size matter?
Each sector code sets its own turnover limit and its own qualifying thresholds. Your sector and size decide whether an affidavit applies to you, whether you are assessed as an EME or a QSE, and which wording the document must use. That is why the questions are asked before your personal details.
What is free, and do I need an account?
Creating your affidavit and downloading the PDF are free, with no payment step. You do need a free email account: the account is what saves your affidavit, lets you download it, and lets you come back to it later. You can complete the questions before registering.
How do I return and update my details?
Log in and open My Documents. While an affidavit is still a draft or has only been generated, you can edit the details and generate an updated version. Once it has been commissioned, it can no longer be changed — you generate a new affidavit and have that one commissioned.
Is the downloaded document already signed or commissioned?
No. The tool prepares and stores the document only. To be used as a sworn affidavit it must be printed and signed in the presence of a Commissioner of Oaths, who completes the commissioning section and applies an official stamp. The tool is not a B-BBEE verification and does not independently certify your status.
What happens if my business does not qualify?
The tool tells you immediately when a sworn affidavit is not the correct route, and what that means. In many cases a full B-BBEE certificate from a SANAS-accredited verification agency is required instead. KMBFS can assist with that as an optional professional service — it is not needed to use this free tool.
